28 January 2019 in Helsinki, Finland -  The Board of Directors of the Nordic Development Fund (NDF) has appointed Karin Isaksson (Sweden) as the organisation’s new Managing Director. Ms Isaksson will assume her appointment on 15 August 2019, succeeding Pasi Hellman (Finland), who held the position from November 2012 to October 2018.

Ms Isaksson will join NDF from her current position as Executive Director of the African Development Bank, where she has served since 2016. Between 2014 and 2016, Ms Isaksson held the position of Vice President, Government Assignment Trade and Invest at Business Sweden, where she had the overall responsibility for government funded operations delivered by the organisation. Prior to that, she held Director-level positions at Swedfund focused on areas such as investment operations, strategy, partnership development and new products.

"Karin Isaksson’s strong background in both development finance and private sector investment combine to make her a very good fit for NDF, where we are increasingly shifting our funding portfolio towards financing instruments other than grants,” says Hans Olav Ibrekk Chairman of the Board of Directors, NDF, adding: “Ms Isaksson’s leadership experience also comes at an opportune time for us, as we complete an overall evaluation of our operations and prepare to shape a new future together.”
