Global Green Growth Forum (3GF) 2014 took place Monday and Tuesday 20-21 October in Copenhagen. This year’s theme Changing Production and Consumption Patterns through Transformative Action brought together 300 top-level government representatives, business leaders, investors and international organisations to discuss how to effectively realise the potential for long-term global, inclusive green growth. A rapid, large-scale industrial transition is needed if global economic growth is to continue while simultaneously reducing greenhouse gas emissions, adapting societies to climate change and promoting a sustainable use of resources. This industrial transition has the potential to unlock new growth engines and spur global economic growth.
The Global Green Growth Forum (3GF) was initiated by the Danish Government in collaboration with the governments of China, Kenya, Mexico, Qatar and Rep. of Korea and a number of leading businesses and international organisations. 3GF provides an annual summit meeting of high level green growth leaders from governments, the corporate sector and international organisations willing to take leadership in this transition towards green growth. 3GF complements global processes and initiatives, focusing on enhancing public-private partnerships and bottom-up approaches.
