Nordic Climate Facility's 7th Call for Proposals

The concept note application period for the Nordic Climate Facility’s 7th call for proposals has been closed. It is no longer possible for new applicants to apply for funding under the NCF7 call. The deadline for submitting full proposals is 31 January 2018 noon Helsinki time (only applicable for applicants invited to submit a full proposal).

The Nordic Climate Facility (NCF) received 138 concept note applications under the seventh call for proposals. 121 applications were deemed eligible and thus evaluated by NCF’s Evaluation Committee. 25 projects have been shortlisted and invited to submit a full proposal.

General information about NCF

The theme of NCF7 is Climate as Business - Testing innovative green business concepts. The call focuses on testing innovative green business concepts and ideas that could become commercially viable.

A successful project:

  • Contributes to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals
  • Tackles climate in an innovative manner
  • Stimulates local business development
  • Creates jobs and income-generating opportunities
  • Reduces poverty
  • Increases gender equality
  • Has strong replication and scaling up potential

The NCF7 application process is composed of two stages. Applicants selected to the full proposal stage have been informed. It is no longer possible for new applicants to apply for funding under the NCF7 call. Interested applicants are encouraged to sign up to the NCF mailing list to stay up-to-date on NCF's upcoming calls.

  1. Concept note stage: a brief application focusing on the fulfilment of the basic eligibility criteria as well as the following key aspects: business concept viability, climate change relevance, development impact and innovativeness.
  2. Full proposal stage: The highest scoring proposals will be invited to present a full proposal.
