Objectives
The aim of the project is to reduce Tanzania’s vulnerability to climate change by identifying potential coastal climate impacts, and identifying priority adaptation investments to enhance resilience. The project consists of several studies to identify potential climate impacts along Tanzania’s coastal margin and develop a follow-on operation to the ongoing World Bank/Government of Tanzania Marine and Coastal Environmental Management Project (MACEMP) focused on coastal adaptation to climate impacts. The project will also raise awareness among key stakeholders of needed policy changes and investments for resilience. The project will finance the preparation of a coastal climate adaptation project focusing on fisheries, tourism, agriculture and conservation.
Financing
Total cost of the project will be EUR 1.0 million, of which NDF will provide EUR 0.8 million, and World Bank EUR 0.2 million.
