This project seeks to mitigate the negative impacts of climate change, protecting forests through income diversification less vulnerable to droughts and higher temperatures in indigenous peoples communities in Chiquitanía, Bolivia.

This project aims to help indigenous families and farmers diversify their incomes and protect forest ecosystem services. This will be obtained through integrated and sustainable forest management projects related to cacao, coffee and essential oils.

The project implements the Sustainable Cochabamba Action Plan, elaborated as part of the Emerging and Sustainable Cities Initiative (ESCI) to promote adaptation and mitigation in the Kanata metropolitan area using right-based and gender equality approaches.

The aim is to implement a participatory and differentiated strategy of adaptation to the effects of climate change in the Bolivian highlands, with emphasis on the retraction of glaciers in the Sajama National Park and the Mururata and Illimani glaciers.
